The hotel takes its name, Pantalon, from the gruff and miserly merchant in the Commedia dell’arte, and Saint Pantaleon, a healer venerated also in Venice who lived between the 3rd and 4th centuries AD, and whose martyrdom is portrayed on the frescoed ceiling of the Church of San Pantalon.
